Today is the 100th birthday of Wes Montgomery. Wes at 100 is a city-wide celebration of Wes Montgomery’s Centennial. The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation is celebrating Wes Montgomery’s Centennial in 2023 all year long.
Wes Montgomery was born 100 years ago on March 6, 1923.
Wes Montgomery is one of the most influential jazz guitarists that ever lived. His life and music have impacted so many people. His musical influence live on far past his death.

This morning, The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation was pleased to give a tribute to Wes Montgomery.
Says Rob Dixon, “Big Thank You to Ryan Ahlwardt and Jillian Deam for having us on Indy Now celebrating what would have been the 100th birthday of Wes Montgomery. Jacob Smith (bass) and I had a blast playing with the one and only Steve Weakly (guitar). And it is always an honor to be in the company of the distinguished Robert Montgomery.”
