On behalf of all of us involved with The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation, we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. 2009 was a great year for us, and we anticipate that 2010 will be even better! As we look forward to the coming year, we are excited about the opportunities afforded to us to step up our involvement in the educational aspects of our mission...mainly to develop and fund many more programs than we have been able to in the past few years. Thanks to our involvement with presenting Indy Jazz Fest, our membership drive, and our successful Holiday Showcase, we are able to look forward to a busy and rewarding year. Holiday Showcase Sells Out
This years Holiday Jazz Showcase was a great success...we sold out and had to set up extra tables to try and accomodate the overflow crowd. Thank you one and all who came out and supported us!!! There were fabulous performances by Brenda Williams, Larry and Everett Greene, Tommy Wills, and a special tribute to Mary Moss, who jumped onstage to delight us with her great voice and dazzling smile (not to mention her beautiful, as always, gown). We inducted Tommy Wills, Al Coleman, Reggie DuValle, Frank Smith, and Bill Penick into our Indianapolis Jazz Hall of Fame, and all who attended thought it was our best showcase ever. Of course that only challenges us to reach even greater heights this year!
